I loved my stay... the landlord was friendly and approachable. There was a good atmosphere in the bar. The room was pleasant, tidy, and spacious. I had food there which was very good.
Lovely room decorated with antique furniture. The bed and duvet were very comfortable. The antique bath tab was long and wonderful. However, the shower didn't work well. Water wernt all over the floor. We could not work out how to use TV. Because there was no phone in the room I could not contact the reception. Eventually my husband figured out how to turn TV on. The room was very warm. The restaurant was a little disappointing. Not many choices. It was Sunday evening, but no Sunday roast. I had a hamburger. It was nice.
Excellent wait staff, took our drinks order very quickly and soon after our food order, but gave us a little more time to think. Very attentive staff, beautiful location in the middle of Fletching and the food was absolutely delicious! We came for lunch, didn't stay at the hotel, would highly recommend for food. We might come back to stay here, thank you.
We had a very pleasant two night stay at The Griffin. Our room was spacious and comfortable and already set up with a travel cot for our little one (a nice touch as we hadn’t pre-requested this). We ate at the restaurant both evenings and found both the food and service very good. Breakfast was really nice although a slight grumble was that the French toast was not served as advertised on the menu (but this was minor). We would definitely return if visiting the area again.
A delightful one-night stay in East Sussex! Comfortable room, super breakfast and the warmest of welcomes in a fabulously festive traditional setting. We shall return soon
Excellent experience, delicious dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning, and a beautiful old characterful room. Very quiet area too, we had a perfect night's sleep.
Beautiful room and very comfortable. The team were all extremely helpful. The pub had such a lovely, cosy vibe , the kind of place where you just want to sit by the fire with a glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere.
This was our second stay on a Sunday night and it was fantastic. Our room was gorgeous (better room than our first stay, we were upgraded as per their booking promise) . The food and service were all very good. The location and the gardens are fabulous especially if you are super lucky with the weather like we were. A real traditional English pub with great food , beer and accommodation. I am sure we will be back for a third visit !
